I took my cat for her booster vaccine about a week ago, she’s 1 so this is her first booster after she started the course last year.

I’ve noticed a small pea shaped lump on the back of her neck tonight very close to the skin and free from being attached to any muscle or bone.

My cat that passed a few years ago died from cancer bought on by a cancerous tumour likely as a result of his vaccines. Very rare, but sadly this is how I lost him.

I’m naturally quite anxious about this lump on my current cat, but I’m already in and out the vets for a course of ringworm treatment which is almost cleared up. She’s next due testing in about 3 weeks.

It’s cost me an awful lot of money so far (about £400) in visits and treatment and whilst I have insurance I can claim it back on, it’s come as the worst possible time as I’m 8 months pregnant and money is tight. We get charged every single visit so whilst financially it would be more practical to wait until her next scheduled appointment I feel guilty putting it off.

Has anyone else been in this position recently and how long did you wait to go to the vets? I know they can occasionally get a lump after a vaccine and they can just go. Worst case scenario I can have it checked when she goes in in a few weeks, and between now and then I’ll be keeping an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t grow.
