Clomid 50mg when I have been getting positive Opk?

Hi lovely ladies,
We have been trying for about a year. My periods were almost regular except couple of months of irregular ones. I have been taking OPKs and have been getting a strong positive. My doctor now wants me to try clomid. But given that I have had positive opks, would it help? Feeling very confused, please share your thoughts. 😞

I started clomid 50mg days 5-9 and I have always had normal periods like clockwork. My Dr. prescribed it for unexplained infertility while we waited on an apt with a specialist and I got pregnant on the second round.

Clomid helps the follicle(s) grow. We were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. We’ve gone through 3 cycles with Clomid. What I’ve learned is my follicles grow slower than normal. I don’t ovulate until around day 19. First 2 rounds, the dr would do ultrasound on day 11 or 12 and follicles were too small. She’d calculate the average growth per day and say OK do trigger shot on X day then come back for IUI. For the 3rd cycles with a different dr, she kept having me come in for ultrasounds instead of assuming when my follicles would be the right size. I did trigger shot later in the cycle. The cycle was successful but I miscarried. So yes, Clomid is worth it even if you ovulate. Maybe your follicles just need an extra push. I wasn’t responding like the dr wanted so we’re upping to 150mg Clomid next cycle in hopes of 2 follicles getting to the size she wants before triggering.
