Child before marriage?

Just curious why people have kids first before getting married? Like in my town it's considered a taboo. People see it as stupidity. I just don't understand why people would want a child first with a guy they didn't marry yet I mean guys can still leave after marriage but still, marriage is marriage. It has it's benefits and assurance. Why do it?

because people have different values than you? and that’s fine. it’s not really your business how other people chose to live their lives.

Marriage is not insurance. People can be happier not married than some people are in their marriages.
It doesn't matter what you/ your town considers taboo anyway.

They do it so they can call their kids bastards later on when they act up without guilt... lol. But seriously, not everyone wants to get married, it's a bit of an old institution. Many couples are happy and committed to their partners without being legally wed.. some are even happier than their married counterparts.. it may still be a bit taboo where you live, but the world is changing... probably best to accept that and learn that others have different views. It'll make your life a whole lot easier :)

My sister waited till she was married and is still a single mother of 3. Marriage has no guarantees or insurances. Not everyone agrees with marriage either. I know some people who feel very strongly that they will never get married but have been in a long time relationship for over 10 years. Just because your town is so judgmental doesn't mean the rest of the world needs to agree.

I’m sure we could all judge you because you live under a rock from the 50’s. It’s none of your business what other do with their lives. My husband and I planned our first child out of wedlock, got married a year after she was born, had 3 more kids. Wouldn’t change anything because we were ready and we fully knew what we were getting into. Why do you care so much anyways?

and who are you to judge ? not everyone has the same beliefs as you, are they hurting you by having a kid before marriage ? are they asking YOU for money to help raise their children ?
let people live however they want, after all it’s their life not yours !
i was raised is a Catholic home but i still don’t believe in marriage or sex until marriage.

Many people do things “backwards” and there’s nothing wrong with that. There is no wrong or right and should be no judgement for people who have children before marriage.

Maybe because the they got pregnant without actually trying to get pregnant. That's what happened to me but we did get married when our daughter was 3. I wasn't just going to run and get married because I was pregnant. I wanted to know for sure that I washed to married before we got married.
