TTC after being on birth control for 17 years
Hey all,
I’ve looked up some answers to my question I’m about to ask. But thought I’d ask again on a new post and to introduce myself. I’m 34 and my boyfriend and I are ttc. I have been on the pill for 17 years, mainly skipping my periods along the way because my flow was so heavy and it hurt so bad when I was younger. So I always skipped the placebos.
Anyways, we decided I would stop taking my birth control in July. The last week of June I missed 3 pills in a row. I had like 3 days of heavy bleeding with clots and all. Then I took my pills (inconsistently but not missing more than 2 days in a row), I took my last pill on July 18th. I had a 4 day light (withdrawal??) bleed from 7/21-7/24. We def tried to hit all the days and haven’t missed more than 2 in a row. But I also don’t know when I’ll get my next period even though the prediction is Sunday since I just got off the pill.
I’ve had some symptoms that could also be related to getting off of birth control, nausea, upset stomach, nipples really sensitive, I had some creamy white discharge (not yellow) and lotion like that I’ve never had before 2-3 days last week. Not sure if that’s just my body getting back to normal. I was going to take a first response this week as my boyfriends’ birthday is this week and he says this would be the best present. But is it too soon?
I’m wondering how long it took you all to get pregnant after getting off birth control, especially the pill? And could it happen right off? Especially considering my age and such.
Thanks for reading this far!!
