FET transfer - what is the typical protocol thaw 1 or 2?

I have my transfer coming up. I will ask my doc for more info but wanted to know if it’s typical to thaw 2 and take the one that looks better and refreeze the other? Or thaw 1 only? Thank you ladies.

My clinic will unthaw the number of embryos that you are transferring. So if you’re transferring 1 embryo they will only take one out. Now I am not quite sure what would happen if the thaw didn’t go well. I don’t think it takes a ton of time to thaw one so potentially they could still do the transfer, you just might have to wait a tiny bit longer. That would definitely be a good question though since I know they are prepping your lining with progesterone for a certain amount of time before transfer.

I wouldn’t thaw two if you only plan on using 1. My clinic only does one so they only thaw one. Refreezing can sometimes*** damage the embryo (not always).
