Loose stools? (TMI y’all)
I have been constipated since pretty much day 1 of pregnancy, I have had terrible hemorrhoids and drink milk of magnesia like it’s going out of style just to have a bowel movement once a week. I have HG so staying hydrated and the medication I was on was why I had constipation, but I’m still on the medication. I have been able to drink more starting around 24 weeks, but my bowel movements were still every 3-4 days and very painful and hard, even with stool softeners. I even ruptured a hemorrhoid at one point trying to go. Sorry, I said TMI. Anyway, it’s been pretty bad, up until a few days ago.
I had taken my nausea medication and it knocked me out pretty fast, but I woke up an hour later with THE WORST diarrhea cramps of my life. It felt like contractions, but they weren’t consistent, just very very painful. I tried going to the bathroom, and was unable to, but I had a lot of mucousy discharge and blood when I wiped after I peed. The blood was not from my anus, it all came from my vagina. I panicked, thinking it may be pre labor and called L&D. They told me it was probably fine, to relax and drink water and come in if contractions become consistent or the bleeding continued. After about an hour, everything stopped and I fell back asleep. When I woke up in the morning, I felt totally normal. Figured it was just stomach cramps, constipation was a norm. But then later that day, I had terrible diarrhea. Like watery, awful diarrhea. And every day since, I have had very very loose bowel movements. No cramping or bleeding, but it’s just so out of the norm considering I have been constipated up until this point. Is this normal? Is it just my bodies way of preparing for labor? I’m 33 weeks, so I just don’t want to go into labor too early.
