Does this make me selfish? Breaking tradition.
When I, my siblings, and my cousin were all born, my grandma was in the delivery room and she gave all of us our first baths. So now my mom expects to be in the delivery room when her grandbabies are born and she thinks she should give the first bath. We are having her first grandbaby.
I do not want anyone other than my husband in the delivery room with me and I want him to be the one to give the first bath. It took us 3 years to conceive and finally carry a pregnancy this long. I want us to be able to have our moment and not share it with anyone else. I also don't plan on calling anyone to let them know I'm in labor. I don't want us to be distracted by our phones and receiving all these calls and texts and feel obligated to keep everyone updated. I also don't want people waiting in the waiting room. I want us to go, have our baby, spend some time as our new little family, then call everyone and let them know they can come visit.
Am I being selfish?
