Boyfriend Invading Privacy?
My boyfriend and I have access to each other’s phones when we want. I don’t go through his phone, ever, unless I need to text my mum or just looking at what he’s watching on YouTube/Instagram together.
Lately he’s been going through my phone with me there, like I’ll be watching and he’ll open all my snaps and go through my dm’s and stuff which I think is a little weird but I have nothing to hide so I don’t care.
He asked me last week to look at who I had blocked, and I said no. They’re blocked for a reason. I say this because, we broke up for a month and during that time I slept/spoke with some guys. After we got back together, I blocked them all (because I respect our relationship) and he knows they’re blocked. He left it after that.
Anyway today he went to the toilet and was like “I’m taking your phone for entertainment” and I was like “aight cool”. But I KNEW he wanted to do further snooping, so I sneak in and he’s looking at who I’ve blocked! I snatched m his hand and was like “I really can’t believe you’d go against what I asked like that” he keeps saying he wants to know if there’s anyone he knows I’ve blocked and I said NO. TAKE MY WORD FOR IT. I explained to him it’s none of his business and further explained my right to privacy, and if he REALLY wanted to know he should’ve asked instead of going behind my back.
He apologised, and I forgave him as it’s just a small thing but it’s kind of breached a bit of trust with me...like why would he do that? I don’t want him to know who I’ve slept with. I don’t want to know who he’s slept with. We’re together now I don’t know why he can’t just leave it??
EDIT: I thought I was overreacting but you guys seem to think not. I got kind of shitty and was like “do you trust me?” And he was like “what?” And I just kind of burst into tears. I confronted him about all of it and was like why do you always go through my phone?? And you went behind my back?? We talked about it and everything is fine now and sorted, I just hope he doesn’t do it again
