My first appointment???

Question

Is it normal not to have your first appointment until 8 weeks? I see most of you are getting blood tests and sonograms earlier than 8 weeks, but I’m not allowed to go until I’m 8 weeks! Should I insist a blood test?

I called my doctor because I won't be seen til 8 weeks. According to them once you test positive there is no blood work needed as it causes some women anxiety/stress and this early on there's nothing they can do for you. She said unless there's spotting they will not see you at all.

Mine is at 8 weeks as well...13 more days and I'm beyond anxious

It's pretty normal not to have your 1st appointment til 8-10 weeks. My doctors doesn't do blood work or early scans before 8 weeks unless you have a history of losses or are high risk.

I have an intake apt with a nurse at 7 weeks but my first Dr apt isn’t until 11 weeks  and she didn’t mention an ultrasound

My GYNO told me to come in for blood work Bc I was getting faint positives early and they tested and it told me I was pregnant before my missed period an told me my level. And I made an appt for 8 weeks! I would request lab work to confirm made me feel better and stop peeing on sticks

I was told this by my doctor as well but I thought you went in sooner for blood test confirmation I am bummed I want to go and make sure everything is ok!

I insist everyone demand an earlier ultrasound than that to rule out a molar pregnancy if your HCG levels are super high.
By 8 weeks some molar pregnancies can develop cancerous tumors..
Just telling you from my experience.
