Yesterday at my appt, my midwife said she was going to do the strep b swab and told me she’d also do a dilation check. I was 1cm and 60% effaced about a month ago, and I told her my BH and discharge were increasing over the last week. Right as she started the internal check, she said, “OH. Baby’s head is right here, very low.” She then told me her head is so low, and my cervix naturally tilts backwards, that she couldn’t reach my cervix without causing discomfort to the baby or possibly triggering early labor. So I left disappointed that I don’t know exactly how dilated I am, and I’m wondering if anyone else has had this happen- low baby and tilted cervix? FTM here so all is new to me!
