Has anyone increased bottle nipple size yet??

Macy

Our girl is almost 3 months and the past week or so has been literally fighting her bottles even though she’s hungry. She hits it out of her mouth, pulls her head away, screams, etc. at first I thought it was reflux but she has no other symptoms and then i was doing reading and it sounds like these could be signs that she’s frustrated with her milk not coming fast enough.

We tried to up the nipple size but she was coughing so we went back down to slow flow. No happy medium at the moment 🙁

Curious if any of you have run into this issue or have already increased your nipple flow

I moved my 12 week old to size 2 when she was just over a month. It depends on the bottle type you're using and your baby, but I'd say it's pretty common to be off newborn nipples by now. Usually takes a few days for them to adjust (did with my first too). But I'd definitely suggest feeding in a more upright position.

Yup! This happened to me today. I moved her up to a “2” and she was still irritated by it going too slow so I moved her to a “3” and it was too fast and she was gagging haha. So I kept the 3 and just sat her up while she ate and kept the bottle level so she wasn’t getting such an intense flow. Still wasn’t perfect but- I totally get ya it’s frustrating

I just posted something like this...my daughter is 3 months and is BF, but I’d kind of doing the same thing recently. “Plays” with my nipple while eating...latches then releases and repeats that’s a ton of times, then kicks her feet constantly and sometimes arches her back?? I thought reflux too but she never spits up and only occasional grassiness. I hoping it’s just a phase but maybe my kill isn’t flowing fast enough for her?? Hmmmmm 🧐

I also moved my baby up at about 2 1/2 months. I just sat him up more and tried to feed before he was screaming for it so he wasn’t trying to take big gulps. It was a struggle the first 2 weeks or so, but he gotten used to it now.
