My boyfriend and I broke up because we are both going to separate colleges

We got along so well 100% the best relationship I’ve been in we hand little to no problems he was my first love which made the break up even harder

I didn’t want to break up and was willing to work through long distance but I feel like he needed to be with other girls (I was the only girl He has been with) I just want to know if it’s possible for us to get back together in the future I’m still so in love with him and we talk sometimes I want to tell him how I really feel but I don’t want to seem clingy etc. and I know I need to let him live a little in college ADVICE
