Worms or just mucus

So I didn’t get a picture but in my dogs poop the other day looked like white spots or strands of mucus Idk if they were worms they didn’t seem to be moving at all or have any sort of head or anything just looked like mucus, and i haven’t seen it in his poop since,

If he had worms, would it be obvious to me that it was worms and not just spots or mucus?
