Looking for suggestions on how to transition to nursing on just one side. When my son was born, the lactation consultant recommended nursing on both sides until my milk came in. So I typically nurse on one side, change his diaper, then nurse on the other. It’s working okay for us, but it’s more time consuming and he doesn’t always want the second breast. If he doesn’t take it, however, I’m super engorged. So if you only nurse on one side, do you have to pump the other side every time? And if not, how are you not painfully full on the other side each time?
