Anyone else get a scan and find out they weren’t as far as they thought/hoped?

I went for my first scan yesterday. We weren’t sure how far along I was, I could’ve been anywhere from 4-7 weeks. I was thinking I was about 6 weeks.

The tech said she could see a gestational sac and the beginnings of a yolk sac. She said at most I would be 4-5 weeks, but it was so small that the computer wouldn’t even let her try to measure.

I was really hoping I was further along than that. I wanted to see SOMETHING. I miscarried at 5 weeks last time and I just wanted some validation. I know it’s not a bad thing that she didn’t see anything, and it’s very possible I’m just under 5 weeks, I just wanted more.

Finding the positive, the earlier I am means the later my due date is. I’m a teacher, so the closer to the end of the school year the better!
