How to handle step dad calling me names?

I’m 27 and living with my parents until I can get on my feet. My step dad yells and gets mad at every little thing. He calls me stupid and retarded and even calls my mom names. My mom says to just ignore it. What should I do?

Well he’s an asshole, sorry your mom hasn’t kicked him to the curb. My advice would be to get a second job and work as much as possible so that you can get sooner and are there less.

Unfortunately you can’t make someone stop being an asshole.  If there is anywhere else you can stay, even if it’s a few nights a week, I would.  Try to limit your interaction with him, and get out ASAP

Is there a reason why you still have to live with them? If you can swing it financially I would move out. That’s so disrespectful and your mom should be standing up for you not just ignoring the situation
