When your baby cries, are there real tears? (Doesn't have to be every time)

Just curious! Our little man is 8 weeks tomorrow and still no tears that we've seen.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. When there are tears it breaks my heart.

My guy is almost 11 weeks and I still haven’t seen any years! His eyes will get watery but no fallen tears yet.
