I don't even know what happened

I went out to dinner with my mother yesterday. She told the waitress her order and I told her mine. I distinctly remember asking for coleslaw on the side, but after the waitress left our table, my mom said "Wow! I didn't know you liked asparagus," to which I said, "What do you mean? I ordered coleslaw." She was confused and kept on saying that I ordered asparagus. I just brushed it off and thought she was crazy. When the waitress came back with our food, she put asparagus in front of me. I started panicking, but I didn't say anything of course. I didn't mind having asparagus. However, I was seriously freaking out. I REMEMBER saying coleslaw, the way it felt coming off my tongue that time. That was so freaky... I wonder what happened... ;-;

It happens, your brain just tricks you into saying something or thinking you said something. I chalk it down to being distracted even if you don't feel distracted.

I’ve had this happen before. I chalked it up to being distracted or stressed out at the the time. I’ve been so sure that I said one thing, and it ended up that I totally didn’t. It happens sometimes. I’m kinda sad you didn’t get your coleslaw, though.
