When is your first ultrasound?

I keep seeing people post that they are getting ultrasounds at 6 weeks. My first prenatal appointment isn't even until I'm 8 weeks and my ob scheduled my first ultrasound for 10 weeks. I'm 6 weeks today and  would love to see/ hear my little sweet pea!

I had a miscarriage in May so that’s why I have close monitoring with this pregnancy. I had my levels checked 3 days after a positive home test, and then again every 48 hours until they reached 2,000. Then did an US to see gestational and yolk sac. And then again at 6+4 to see baby and HR. I know it’s hard waiting to see your little one, but it’s only because they don’t want to cause panic if they can’t see anything before that 8 week mark.

One perk to waiting for 10 weeks....soooo much more detail. With my first I had an ultrasound at 8 weeks and it was great. At 10 weeks I went back and the Doppler didn’t catch a heartbeat so they did an ultrasound and it was AMAZING the difference! Baby was fine, thankfully. My favorite ultrasound to this day is my 10 week one. I want to add my 8 wk was internal, 10 wk was external on top of my belly and the difference was still incredible.

I’m having my first OB appt and ultrasound at 8w 1d on sept 10th

Mine will be at six weeks due to a previous ectopic so I have an early scan but mainly to check the location of the pregnancy. X

I got an ultrasound at 6 weeks because I’ve was having a ton of pain so they wanted to rule out an egtopic pregnancy. Usually they don’t ultrasound early unless there is a concern...

20 weeks. It's normal practice at my OB if you're not high risk.

Mine will be 7 weeks 2 days (in just under 2 weeks time). It's protocol with my IVF clinic.
