How do you stop pumping?

FTM here. I'm 8 days PP and I've come to terms this breastfeeding is not happening. I've pumped and we went from a little bit of colostrum to now just drops of milk. How can I stop all together? Breasts hurt from time to time so I've been pumping drops when they hurt...

Answer

It could be your flanges (they could be the wrong size) - if you’re in pain, the milk is there. If you want to continue - make sure your pieces are all on tight. 
If you don’t, hand expressing will relieve pressure without signaling your brain to make more. Do this in a hot shower. Cabbage leaves & peppermint oil can also help dry you up.
