Wanting to share some insight

I was diagnosed with PCOS at 18. I’ve struggled since then with the weight, hypertension, thin hair, high blood sugar, etc. But I wasn’t looking to have kids so it wasn’t a huge deal to get regular, just deal with the sugars and blood pressure all these years. I’m 32 and just got married in June but hubby is very old fashioned so wanted to wait till after the wedding to start trying. I have never gone on birth control because it spiked my blood pressure when we did try. I’ve been doing a lot more research into PCOS lately and am really glad I didn’t have to use birth control as it sounds it can effect fertility in PCOS women. I have had very irregular periods since age 14ish (about every 3-6 months) but 9 months ago I started on a whole foods diet with moderate exercise (I hate the gym, so it’s mostly walking and weights at home) and have had a period consistently for about 6 months! To the point my hubby can predict it coming by my mood the week before lol. And I’ve lost almost 20lbs which is super huge for me. I have also started on a bunch of vitamin supplements and found a book called PCOS SOS that has been full of helpful information. I was lucky that I was able to turn things around so quickly since the clock is ticking! Fingers crossed we will have happy news soon!
