Are Dr. Bronner's Products actually safe and eco-friendly?

I've read reviews online thag say only good things about all Dr. Bronner's products. But I wanted to get some honest opinions from other parents! Thank you for taking the time to read and vote and to hopefully leave a comment with your personal opinion on their products! (Btw, I'm mainly looking for household cleaning and soaps, but also want to look into them even more!)

I really like them. We use the unscented for my daughter’s hair and body, for hand soap (in a foaming dispenser), for dishes while camping (because it’s biodegradable). It’s cheap and multipurpose and gentle on skin. I’m a big fan.

I HIGHLY recommend the “think dirty” app for anyone who wants to be conscious about what products they’re using. They rate products from 0 - 10 with 10 meaning the product has a lot of not safe ingredients. You can search anything and they have most products (household, baby care, personal care, etc). What I love the most about it is that it lists the ingredients in questions and explains (with cited resources) why it may be harmful. I absolutely love this app. And it’s free! Dr. Bronners products are all in the 0-3 range which is excellent!

Yes they’re wonderful! On the EWG app they’re all rated extremely well for nontoxic ingredients. I first discovered them before I got pregnant because I wanted my husband to stop using his toxic bar soap in the shower, so I switched him to Dr. Bronners and he says it’s even better than Lever2000 or any of the other soaps he’s tried. I then started buying the sugar hand soap (lavender or peppermint are my two favorites) and I started cleaning everything in my house using Dr. Bronners Sal Suds. When I say everything I mean everything from my wood floors, to my bathroom tiles and even windows. I’ve even used it for dishes and laundry when I ran out of my normal nontoxic soap. It’s highly concentrated so it should be diluted in water, but it doesn’t leave any residue when it’s diluted. When my son was born I started using the Dr. Bronners baby wash and it’s super gentle on the skin, although I’m not a fan of using it for his hair because it makes it dull. They also make a baby salve that works well for drool rashes on the face and for preventing diaper rashes.

They have certain ingredients that are rated really bad! You have to look at each ingredient! Overall their score is good.

I love the stuff for hair, body, face, laundry, the kids’ body and hair wash . I’ve used peppermint and lavender without issue.

Love the soap but I find it too rough to use on my face and I don’t even have sensitive skin but I love it for body wash
