My birth story ❤️

Nikki

I love birth stories and I’m so happy I can finally share mine!

My due date was August 1st and they had planned to have me go into the hospital at 6:00pm on August 1st to start cervidil, I was at 2cm for about the last 3 weeks. Then start pitocin in the morning of August 2nd. Well as we were getting ready to go to the hospital on the 1st, my water broke! We still get to the hospital on time at 6:00pm and they said my water did break because I had a pad on and my pants were still soaked lol. They wanted to skip straight to pitocin and get things moving along. So about 4 hours after being on pitocin, nothing was happening and I still couldn’t feel my contractions even though I was definitely having them. My friends and fiancés mom showed up and were waiting it out with us. My nurse was like “You should definitely be in pain right now” and then checked me again and felt that my water didn’t break all the way I guess? Because of how the baby’s head dropped. Well she broke it (at around 3:30am) and the next contraction was terrible! It was like an instant 0 to 100 in a minute. I was like... I need the epidural, so the nurse gets me in queue. Now I am a FTM and never felt contractions before and it was miserable waiting for the epidural. Around 4:15am the anesthesiologist comes in and looks at my back and goes, “I am not touching you.” Because I have a back tattoo. It’s about 6 years old and my nurse is super confused and trying to convince the anesthesiologist to give me the epidural. She won’t and is just being super mean and leaves. My nurse runs to try and get me a pain killer to stick in my IV and I just started crying my eyes out all alone in my room. I felt helpless. (They made everyone leave because of the epidural) Then they let everyone in and my fiancé asked why I was crying and I told him, the whole room was confused. All my nurses said she should have done it. I asked my nurse if the contractions are going to get worse and she said no so I then tried to convince myself that I got this and I can do it. She checked me again at around 6am I think and I was at 8 cm, and then they let me push at 6:30am. It felt so nice to push and it made the pain go away. My body was pushing on it’s own and I couldn’t stop it anyway 😂 About after an hour of pushing my baby boy arrived! 7:37am and he is perfect! I had a second degree tear but I didn’t even know.
