Anyone taking Zofran/Ondansetron?

I am having severe nausea and can hardly drink or eat anything. My doctor prescribed Zofran and said it’s absolutely safe, but I read online that there *may* be a very small increase of cleft palates and heart defects associated with taking it. I am 11 weeks now so almost out of the first trimester.

I am taking it, decided for me it’s important to have adequate nutrients and not be dehydrated which can for sure negatively impact the baby. So I’m taking the zofran and I’m still sick sometimes but at least I’m not dehydrated and at least I’m able to eat again...

There is no direct correlation/enough studies that prove  zofran being linked to cleft palates. The risks of not getting adequate nutrition for the baby is far greater than the actual medication itself. If this drug was proven to be harmful to the baby, doctors would NOT be prescribing it. I took it all throughout my first pregnancy, baby was healthy as could be. I was prescribed it as needed this one as well. If you’re concerned you could always split the pill in half if you have a pill cutter and see if that does the trick for you!

I took Zofran throughout my entire first pregnancy starting at 6 weeks. Took it twice a day then at 11 weeks, I had to have Zofran injected into my stomach 24/7 through a pump until I was almost 30 weeks.  My daughter is now 2 and was born perfectly healthy and is still perfectly healthy ❤️

Yes taking it since week 6 after being hospitalized. There are conflicting data reports and no concrete evidence of any correlation. At 11 weeks things have formed now that it shouldn’t affect that anyway. Take it and get some relief!
