I don't think I've ever been more disgusted

I moved in with my boyfriend about 4 months ago. Got pregnant 3 months ago. We've been together for 3.5 years.

So lately, I've been waking up with a sore throat. I assumed the air was dry but this morning I asked him when was the last time he changed the air filter in it. He said "I've never changed it, I don't know if you can?"... Well of course you can dummy.

I checked the A/C unit- the small kind for a single bedroom in an apartment. It's built into the wall, not in a window. Anyway, I pull the filter out its COVERED in years of filth. I'm surprised it still ran. Get closer and see black mold is growing ALL over where it shoots the air back out!! I mean. Its everywhere. How did I not see this? How didn't he!? It goes all the way into the system, so it's not even something I can try to clean.

I tell him, and he's not even phased slightly, he just says "I'm not surprised"

Oh hell no. I'm about to break it today while he's at work. He better get use to a fan because we're not having A/C anymore until it's replaced.

I'm pregnant for God's sake. No way I'm letting my child stay anywhere there is black mold spores circulating the damn room. I'm very upset and needed to vent. I am going to have my issue resolved but ugggh I needed to rant it out.
