Spina Bifida Warrior

My son has Spina Bifida and we underwent fetal surgery at 25w1d on May 17th during surgery he lost his heartbeat and CPR was performed, I also lost a lot of blood and almost needed a blood transfusion. I spent the remainder of my pregnancy on strict bedrest in my hospital room due to dangerously low amniotic fluid and the worry of preterm labor. He was born July 9th at 32w5d by c section and spent 27days in the NICU. We took his newborn photos at 2 months old and this is by far my favorite photo. I was twice cut so he could be my twice born miracle. Sometimes I doubt our choice of fetal surgery and go through all of the “what if’s” but I know that without that surgery he wouldn’t be as functioning as he is.
