Cultural or just poor grammar?

Ma

So I was having a conversation with some extended family. My Aunt tends to say things like, “We was” instead of “We were” Or will say “She mad” instead of “She’s mad” or

“He don’t mind” over “He doesn’t mind.”

I am biracial and my aunt is black and says that it is a part of her culture to speak that way, whereas my dad, who is also black, was getting on her about it, saying they grew up in the same family and it’s not part of their culture, but just a lazy way of speaking, shows poor grammar skills and is unprofessional as it makes one sound uneducated.

Do any of you speak this way? Do you think it has to do with your race, family, where you grew up, education? Do/would you speak the same around friends and family as in a professional setting?

If you don’t speak this way what is your opinion of those who do?
