I have been on birth control for 8 months

I have been on the depo shot for while I haven’t been on in the past 3 months I finally got my first period this month (August) I only been pregnant 1 time ever and that with my daughter that’s 4 years old I’m not trying to get pregnant but why haven’t I got pregnant yet am I not fertile enough ? Idk
