I don’t think it’s very common, I have my anatomy scan next week and the lady that does the ultrasounds is the only ultrasound tech in that office. My dr told me this week that she’s never been wrong about the sex in 24 years, now idk how true that is, but I’m going to go with it to help settle my anxiety 🤷🏻♀️
Has anyone gotten a wrong gender ultrasound ?
Has anyone gotten a wrong ultrasound saying your having either a girl or a boy and it turns out your not having what they said ? And if so can you please tell me your story. I feel like I got a wrong ultrasound but I don’t know lol

This happened to my aunt. She was told she and her husband were having a boy, they had the nursery decorated for a boy, all the gifts they received for my aunts baby shower were all geared towards a boy,they had a boy name picked out and ready to go, and BAM my cousin was born and was a healthy baby girl.

That’s crazy ! Lol if something like that happened to me I would be happy since I already have a boy. But we are supper excited because my son will have a baby brother to play with

I keep hoping mine was wrong but won’t know until Monday lol but the techs see thousands of ultrasounds every year and they’re trained to know exactly what they’re looking at. So it doesn’t happen often.

This is what I’m hoping for myself lol I was told girl and I was really hoping for another boy. If they confirm girl on Monday then I’ll probably be more okay with it. I’m measuring behind what they thought so a lot of measurements were missing.

When ultrasounds around wrong, 99% of the time, it's when a tech said you're having a girl but it ends up being a boy. This is the most common error because the penis can tuck up and hide. Whereas once a penis and testicles are visible in the photo, theres no going back. We had this issue in our anatomy scan: told at the beginning we are having a girl, every angle "confirmed it" then BOOM, his little wee wee and balls popped down into the photo at the end, and shes like, "well. Its DEFINITELY a boy! No girl here!" But the opposite of being told a boy and it ending up a girl is verrrrrry rare as the tech won't likely ever confuse the cord for a penis. It's highly unlikely but sure, seek a second opinion!!
