How do your night feedings go?

Question

Anyone have any tips for getting their little one to go back to sleep quickly after a night feeding? My boy just lays there and grunts groans and poops for what feels like an hour + . I’m also having to walk back over and pop the pacifier back in his mouth every few minutes. I’m going insane 🙃

I usually nurse on one side.. diaper change, get a good burp, swaddle.. nurse on other side until she falls asleep and place her down in the bassinet like she’s a ticking time bomb. Haha. Works like a charm and I don’t have problems with her spitting up without a burp on the second side. If she spits up its only a tiny bit and never bothers her. Keep the room nice and dark and don’t talk to baby. All business

I swaddle before nursing, she falls asleep nursing, and then I put her in the crib gently like a ticking bomb as mentioned above haha. I don’t use the pacifier unless she’s legit screaming... if she’s just grunting/fussing then she usually eventually falls asleep. Also have the bassinet literally right next to my bed so I don’t have to get up.

My 7 wk old will sleep from 9/10-5/6am with one feed in the middle he needs it. We don’t even unwrap him from his swaddle to feed. I start feeding him when he starts fussing rather than cry so he’s not woken himself up, also no lights, and gentle burp than straight back into the bassinet in his tight swaddle and blanket. That seem to work for us! Hope you and bub get some sleep soon. you’re doing a fantastic job mumma ☺️

My little one 4 weeks gets up at 1am and 3-4am, he’s pretty good about going to bed after feeding, I don’t turn the lights on have night light on, I have a white noise sound machine that plays all night, first thing I do is unswaddle him, change diaper, reswaddle, and then feed. I bottle feed so every couple 1-2oz I burp him and by the last oz left he’s definitely falling asleep in the upright position from the burping, I continue to rock him 15ish mins until I think he’s in a deep sleep then I transferred him into crib/bassinet. This is the hardest part because sometimes the transition can wake him during placement down, and if that happens I will usually have to use a pacifier to get him back to sleepy point. But  some nights it’s awesome and whole thing can take 30mins other nights can be an hour. Just depends. I’m hoping for the longer sleep stretches

I know it may be hard, but perhaps not using a pacifier when putting your baby down. I’ve been advised not to use a pacifier for bed until they are able to reinsert it themselves when it falls out of their mouth.
I feed my 5wk old, wakes up twice to feed in the night, and again that takes 45-60min to get her back down. I go into when I can hear her fussing, she doesn’t seem to wake herself up. I feed her, burp her and sometimes rock her back to sleep. I have a white noise machine that I turn on when I first put her down which I find helps because she associates that sound with falling asleep. I find the machine doesn’t have to run continuously through the night, just when I’m trying to get her back to sleep.

My baby is 6 weeks and she’s been sleeping through the night, wakes up once at around 3-4 am, I nurse her and finish it off with some ounces in the bottle, burp her, and she goes back to sleep. Only time she fusses is when my husband swaddles her right away other than that my night pumping has been put away for when I go back to work in the freezer

How old is your son? My son is 7 weeks old and he used to be like that. Try keeping the room dark. I'd you have to turn on a light use a lamp instead of the bright overhead light. Keep him upright for 30 minutes after he eats while rocking him. Try swaddling him after he eats. Try burping him after every 2 to 3 ounces even if he doesn't seem uncomfortable. Try gas drops. Also start giving him a probiotic daily. It helps with digestion.
