Are cereals actually bad after 30 days?

So I have the Gerber baby oatmeal cereal and it says it's bad after 30 days but it's literally just oatmeal does it actually go bad after 30 days of opening? Doesn't make sense to me..

If it days use within 30days of opening, I would listen.

Most things last longer than their expiration date. But, I wouldn’t take any chances with babies unless you have no other option.

With baby stuff I would listen. Because after the amount of days it says the item can go stale and pose a greater chocking risk for the baby. Same thing when you get to the finger foods. Better safe than sorry.

Does it say “use by”, “sell by”, or “best by”? They each have slightly different meanings.
