Why does she do this?

Question

For the last few days she fiddles with her ear when she’s nursing/falling asleep (5months). Could it be an ear infection? She doesn’t seem to grab her ears otherwise. No fever etc.

It comforts her before she falls asleep. Just keep a eye on redness and crying/whining when she touches it.

My baby girl did the same thing, she doesnt do it much now. It was an infection cuz she never had a fever or was fussy, so i just firgured it was a comfort thing and also learning to find new things on her face.

Sounds like it’s for comfort. My first daughter did this. She would even do it to my ear to fall asleep.
