I have a 2 week old baby, my mother came to stay with me for a week, to help me as I recover and spend time with her granddaughter. She told me today that she has a fever blister/cold sore starting up.

I, of course, try to not go into panic mode about my baby getting HSV. I've heard and read about what can happen to newborn babies if they get it. I never saw her kissing my baby anywhere other than the top of her head and she didn't have an active cold sore while she was around her. Am I overworrying? Or should I be concerned? I'm on the lookout for symptoms (there aren't any atm) but would like some group input.... Im a very worried mom right now.

EDIT/UPDATE: To clarify, my mother came on Sunday and had been at my house till today - Friday. She was putting her makeup on this morning and said she thinks she might have a cold sore coming on. I told her not to touch baby anymore.
