painful ovulation! anyone else??

my ovulation are pretty painful. I get sharp pains on only 1 side depending what side releases the egg and sharp cramping feeling and my side and down my thigh just ache for about a day or 2 it makes me happy that my body is ovulating but why so painful? I mentioned it to my doctor but he didn’t have much to say about it just reassured that it’s ovulation. but does anyone get ovulation pain?
