I am currently a big sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters. I have been matched with my little sister for 4 years. I love her like she is family. Typically with this program, the children do not have the best home life. I knew that when I signed up. However, over the past few years, this have gone from bad to unimaginable. Her mom is most likely going to jail for awhile and her grandparents home is not great, which is where she, her mom and sister live. She herself as a 10 year old told me that she knows foster care will probably happen soon. CPS is already involved with the family and with reason events from the past week are major enough to put remove them (needle in child's bed, passing out in car with children, grand parents pinning and beating mom, pulling child by hair, stolen car, etc.). My question: Is there a way her and her sister could come to my house instead of a foster family? The rest of here family is currently in their own legal troubles or not in a place health wise to take in a child. I am willing to take any courses needed. I am not sure how I should approach the subject with the family/ BBBS/ or CPS. Any advice is appreciated.
