Child Modeling
Hello mamas, just wanted to get some opinions on what to do. I have a 3 year old and am currently on maternity leave for my 2 month old. One day I decided to submit my 3 year olds photos to a local modeling agency just to “see what will happen”. I really did not expect to hear back but I was contacted by them to bring him in for an interview. It was a quick 5 min visit where they took his photo and measurements and again, I didn’t expect it to go any further. But later the next morning I received a contract for my son. Now, this agency is legit. We don’t pay them anything, they collect 20% of what my son earns (if he gets booked). However, it’s not all free because we do have to invest in professional headshots for his portfolio which doesn’t come cheap.
I’ll be returning to work full time in two weeks and my husband also works full time. Im not thinking long term but I think it would be a fun experience for now. And who doesn’t want to see their baby’s face in a children’s clothing catalog? However, with our work schedule, is this really doable? Casting calls and shoots can be very last minute. I can take some time off here and there but I just don’t know what to expect in terms of demand. Would you sign just for the experience even if it’s short lived or pass on it because it’s not practical for working parents.
Any mommies with child models that can give me any insight?
