Pill vs Shot vs Patches?

Question

I can never, ever remember to take my birth control pills and taking pills makes me want to puke. 
I was wondering which is better, if I should stick with the pill or try the birth control shot or the patched. I take birth control for my extremely heavy and painful periods to help reduce them. 
I do not, under any circumstance, want an implant at all. 
What are the side effects for the shot and patches? Are they better than the pill?

I was on the patches for a little over 3 years and they were great as long as you remember to change the patch once a week on the same day! I only had side effect for maybe the first three months and for me it was just really sore boobs, moodiness, some cramps, and i think that was it. Every body is different, but I didn’t gain weight, or get acne, or any weird period pattern. I never used any other form to prevent pregnancy while on the patches and never got pregnant so for me they worked! I recommend them but everyone reacts different and that’s the scary thing is that you never really know.
