Am i supposed to bring my medicine to the hospital??

I’m a FTM. I have also been diagnosed with gestational hypertension so the doctor has prescribed me blood pressure medicine. I go in for my induction next Wednesday and have been told it could be a couple days before baby is born. Am I supposed to bring my medicine with me??

I was advised to bring my own medication (anemic and hyperthyroid here) because there’s a lot going on and just having your own correct dosages with you when you need makes it much easier. To be on the safe side, I would bring your own with you, too.

I am, but mostly as verification that these are the medications that are in fact prescribed to me. I’m afraid of a lack of communication between my doctor’s office and the hospital (or a delay in communication) so I’m bringing my medication in it’s original bottle. I wouldn’t recommend taking any of it though as the nurses need to document giving you the medication via their system and there’s a lot of risk involved when you are taking medication that they may not be aware of.

I’d personally bring my meds just in case. Having said that, they may not allow you to take them—they usually only want you to take meds through their pharmacy.

Bring them but tell your nurses as soon as your arrive. Maybe even have them write it on the board. Also check in with them before you take any pills even after delivery.
