When to take an ovulation test

Question

What day of your cycle did you take your LH test and how often did you take it? I just got a period after 2 months it’s been about 7 days since the last day. We are TTC. If I don’t get pregnant naturally this month I will go on hormones. Desperately trying to make it happen this month.

Cd 11 one at 10 am and one at 6 pm until i get a positive

I have PCOS and a long cycle (34 something to 42 something usually and the length is random but I do get them) and I started at CD11 but I didn’t start to get blinking smileys indicating high fertility (not peak) till CD18, the cheap tests did not work for me and depressed me because I haven’t seen anything close to a positive yet

I have abnormal cycles. They were averaging around 37 days, and then the last one was a wonderful 52. Because of that, I just started testing now in case I have a strange shorter cycle. I say better safe than sorry. I only test once though, since realistically I probably won’t be ovulating until next week at least which is when I will bump up to the supposed recommended twice a day.

I started on CD 8 because my period ended on cd 6. :)
