IUI without Meds?

Has anyone done IUI without meds like Clomid? Was there anything else you were advised to do to support the process? We have our first appt next week and I am just hesitant to take anything because so far our issue has been male factor and I don’t want to throw my body off its rhythm

Is your RE wanting you to take it or are they asking you if you want to? I’ve never done an IUI (actually I dropped off our packets to the fertility clinic today 😬) but we have male factor (nothing on my end that we know of yet) and we had been TTC for almost a year and my OB just wanted to try it and see if it would do anything for us. I did 3 rounds of Clomid and 1 of letrozole, and it didn’t do a darn thing except give me terrible side effects and throw my cycle off for prob 6 months. So, my opinion is if the problem doesn’t seem to be on your end, and the RE isn’t necessarily wanting you to, don’t do it...but that’s just me 🤷🏼‍♀️

If I ain’t flow comes this month I’m going to do IUI and at first I didn’t want to take clomid but my doctor said to take to get a better chance of it working so I decided to take clomid before doing IUI

I was told to track ovulation with OPKs and I had to let them know when it was positive. They also had me come in for blood work a few days leading up to my typical ovulation to make sure that we wouldn’t miss it. I didn’t need any help with my cycle either, but I would recommend a medicated cycle simply because it’s better for timing the IUI. 3/4 of mine were medicated and it was much easier to have bloodwork/ultrasounds, trigger, and then go in 36 hours later for my IUI. Totally up to you though! I never found that clomid or letrozole messed with my cycle either, just an FYI!

My infertility is male factor only as well. We did IUI with clomid. Your basically just upping the odds. Like my doctor said...putting more balloons in the womb to try to be popped 😂 the % of success with IUI only was no different than our % chance naturally. Using meds increased it to 8% for us. And the meds didn’t mess my cycle up at all. Still period every 30 days on the nose. Did three cycles.
