38+4 and had a false alarm

Last night I was having contractions every 4 minutes and they were lasting a full minute for over an hour, so my dr had me come in for an eval. I was so sure I was starting to go into labor because they HURT. They had been going on for 2+ hours by the time we got to the hospital. So we get there and as soon as they put the monitors on, they just... stopped. Like completely stopped. They checked my cervix and it was still hard and completely closed!! I was so embarrassed that I started sobbing in front of my midwife and the nurse. I was so tired and just wanted to go home. This pregnancy has been really hard on my body and I’m just so ready for her to be here.
