Does your toddler play with the mulch and go up the slide instead of down sometimes at the park?

I had a mom comment on my one year old at the park saying he didn’t play correctly? I didn’t realize at his age he was supposed to play a certain way on the equipment

Yes. 
In fact, just today she actually succeeded in going all the way Up the slide for the first time. Part of me wanted to say “slides are for going down” like all the other moms say. 
But internally I honestly was proud that she finally had enough gross motor skills to succeed at that task that she hadn’t been successful with before (she’s a bit behind with gross motor).  
So I just kept letting her do it. No one else was there and I could tell she felt good about herself for being able to accomplish it. 😁

Yup. there will be so many different play sets, and kids but he runs right for the mulch.
He really likes to take the mulch and put it on the bottom part of the slide. He could literally sit there all day and do that.

My son is 3 and still loves to play like that. He figures it’s easier to go up the slide instead of walking around to go up the steps 🤣🤣 and he loves digging his hands in mulch and throw or kick it around. He’s been doing all this since he was 1.

My LO is a year and a half and we were at the park with another 2 year old. Both my son as well as that little boy were playing with the mulch and trying to climb up the slides lol They didn't even play with each other. My LO ran up to him when we got there and hugged him (he loves to hug all the new kids he meets 😂) and then they both did their own thing. That is what toddlers do. 🤷

Did anyone ask her opinion? No. Zip it and mind your own business. That’s what I can say. You will learn. I no longer tolerate idiots on playgrounds. I’ve learned a lot in the past 3 years. Mostly, I have good experiences. But there has been occasions when you just don’t tolerate shit.
