Glass baby bottles???

FTM here! Has anyone used glass bottles? I was looking into them but everyone keeps telling me to just use plastic. I wanted to get your thoughts if you’ve used them or if you plan on using them.

Don't feel like it has to be all or nothing! You can always do glass for at home and have a few plastic for when you are out.

I used mainly plastic with my first and I used glass occasionally but they just seemed to be so much heavier.

We used plastic with our first three then switched to glass with our fourth. I much prefer glass and will use them with our fifth.

I'm planning on using Mason jar bottles when I eventually pump. Just Google Mason jar baby bottles. They have silicone nipples and bottle covers to protect the glass in case of a drop. (I have a glass water bottle with a silicone cover that I've dropped dozens of times and it's still fine.) Then you can just use whatever 4 and 8 oz Mason jars you have! Less waste, because you'll still be using them once bottle feeding is done. Only problem with these Mason jar bottles is that a lot of people have complained that the nipple flow is too fast, even the slow flow newborn one, for a newborn. Hopefully won't be a problem for me, since I intend to only start using the bottle when the baby is a few months and breastfeeding is well established, but if you plan on using a bottle within the first month, they might not be for you. All that being said, I haven't used them yet! I've just read a bunch of reviews. Also, on their website, they have info on how to pump directly into the Mason jar, if you're using a popular pump. So no waste! The converter they say will work with my pump is $11 on Amazon. As long as this all works out, I think it's the perfect solution!

I used glass with my first. Dr. Brown's. They were supposed to decrease gas an colic. I didn't use them much because I ended up breastfeeding and not pumping as much I thought I would. But I had no issues when they were used. He had a couple of Nuk bottles too

I used them and loved them BUT ended up having to buy plastic for daycare because they had a no glass rule, so if your using daycare at any point you might want to check if they have a similar policy.

We used glass. So much better for baby (plastic and the fats in breast milk ... assuming you’re breastfeeding... don’t mix!).
