Induction at 39 weeks

I’m 30 weeks and I had an appointment today. My OB gave me the option of being induced at 39 weeks which made me excited since I’ll get to meet my baby boy a little earlier. Then I get to work, and 2 women there tell me not to do it because it makes labor harder and more painful and is more likely to end in c-section (which I’m terrified of!!!). However my sister was induced at 39 weeks and her labor went very smooth. Anyone have advice or want to share their birth story about being induced? 😊
