Would you let her come over?
Short version: My mom is a very controlling person and I had my son last Saturday. My husband and I had told everyone that we weren’t having visitors for a week so we could have time to bond and recover. My mom asked within 18 hours of the birth if she could come see him, also he’s her first grandchild. We refused and she contacted other family members who then called or texted me, pressuring me to change my mind. We ended up feeling well recovered by Tuesday night and had my parents over for an hour. Since then, we learned that she told people there was complications with the birth when there wasn’t, she posted on Facebook an announcement before we’d said it was okay, and is acting like she did absolutely nothing wrong.
Now she wants to visit today for a little bit before she and my dad go on a weekend work trip that will be “dangerous and hard work” as she put it. Do I let her come over? I can’t decide either way so I’m hoping for an answer from you guys, thanks!
