How to get stains out of clothes?

Does anybody have a method of stain removal that actually works? I feel like I’ve tried so many things and all my kids clothes that are light in colour end up stained and ruined after the first or second time she uses them. How do you remove stains effectively? And do you wash in cold or hot water? Please any tips and advice would be great. I’m tired of ruining clothes.

Spray n wash stick. Looks like a deodorant stick, but its stain remover. Works better than their spray version and has saved so many clothes for us. I put it on and throw it in the laundry basket for a couple days. Stains come right out. I've gotten blood, ink, oil, pretty much anything, out of clothing and only a couple time have I had to apply it more than once.

I use Shout. Spray it on the stain right away and rub in. Then spray it again right before it goes in the wash. Don’t put it in the dryer if the stain isn’t gone, wash it again.

I use oxyclean spray stain remover. Soak the area in cold water then spray that on and wash. You should wash stained things like that in cold water I believe!
