Too early?

Question

I want to go to a movie with my husband next weekend (yes the movie is IT) my DD will be 2 weeks and 4 days old, i'm currently only breastfeeding but I wanted to pump so my mother can watch her for 3 hrs. Is it too soon to leave her?

I think that it totally depends on how you feel about leaving her and your decision on what works for you as a family and what parenting style you agree with :) I personally didn't leave my baby with anyone for longer than an hour until she was a year old, but I only breastfed and decided that works for our family. If you feel comfortable to leave baby it will be totally fine, especially with a doting grandma! Postpartum hormones may potentially make you not be able to enjoy the movie but you could also be fine and enjoy the break 😉 I don't think there is a right or wrong answer to this question in general but you will know what is the right decision for you and baby
