I came down with a wicked case of mastitis three days ago. The first day my doctor didn’t believe it was mastitis because there was no fever (I had chills, terrible aches and pains, and throbbing headache) and wouldn’t give me antibiotics. Well, after an awful day, they realized I was right and gave me the meds. I’m feeling a lot better, but my breast hasn’t changed. It’s still very tender and there is a large, hard mass on the entire upper right side of my boob. I’m only on day two of the antibiotics, but I’m concerned it turned into an abscess. Anyone have any experience with this?
