So my fiancé was told that when baby comes he will be able to take a week off paid. Well when he went in to actually talk about when he will have to take it off he was told ‘oh that’s only for the higher ups. You don’t get parental leave.’ They said if you save up your pto you can use that. By the time baby actually gets here he will only have 20 hours of pto he can use. The rest of the week he will have to take without pay. He doesn’t want to go back to work immediately because we both know the first week is rough and it’s our first kid. The rest of the week he has to take off cuts about 1/3 of his check away. We can’t afford to lose 1/3 of a check at that time. So we are kinda stuck on what to do.
