High scoring school with no diversity or Averagd school with diversity?

Our daughter will be starting school next year and we started researching potential schools. We live in MA so overall our public school system is pretty good. We’re torn between sending her to a school with a 8/10 test score rating with no diversity, and a school that has a 6/10 score rating but is filled with diversity. Both of the schools score either at or above my states average.

You can send your child to either and it wouldn’t matter as much as the kind of environment they have at home. 
Spending time with your child at home doing homework and reading and supporting their academics will do more than sending them to a higher performing school. 
“Walking the walk” in terms of being a inclusive and diverse household (aka supporting diverse causes, using inclusive language at home) will do more than just sending your child to a school that is diverse.
The thing I would be more focused on is where will your child thrive the most? Are their programs at one or the other that interest your child? Maybe check them both out and ask and see where they want to go to school? (I don’t remember seeing how old your child was so this may not be appropriate)

Visit the schools. You’ll be able to tell quickly which has a climate and culture that align with what you want. I work at a middle school with decent test scores. But our climate and culture is outstanding. We have amazing kids and our number one priority is teaching them to be kind. That’s not measured on a test. State tests are a snapshot of one moment during one day. Don’t let it be the end all be all of your decision.

As others have noted, your commitment to your child's education will play a bigger factor in her success than a school's rating. This means more than just spending time helping her with homework every night. Get to know her teachers, and work with them to make sure her needs are being met in the classroom. Seek out learning opportunities outside of school, as well: encourage discussion and debate around the dinner table, take trips to museums as a family, explore the natural world around you, and embrace curiosity!

That’s tough. 
One thing to remember is that just because the school overall averages slightly lower, doesn’t mean your daughter will or that her peers will either. It probably just means there’s greater variance in the scores there. You can help shape her experience to make sure she meets her greatest potential either way.

As long as your child is committed and has your help as well to continue learning outside of class the lower scoring school should be a fine place academically.
